WA Government Unveils Transmission Plan

The State Government has released the South West Interconnected System Transmission Plan, outlining a clear roadmap for Western Power’s transmission network and delivering one of the most significant energy transformations in Western Australia.

Developed by Energy Policy WA and Western Power, the Plan draws on extensive system modelling and planning to ensure future transmission infrastructure keeps pace with population growth, industry demand, decarbonisation goals, and the State’s economic diversification agenda.

Importantly, the Plan paves the way for major renewable energy projects such as those being developed by Green Wind Renewables. Our wind farms are strategically located along the Clean Energy Link (CEL) developments identified in the Plan, positioning them to play a vital role in powering WA’s clean energy future and supporting the State’s transition to net zero.

Our projects include:

  • Mahogany Wind Farm – located along CEL-North
  • Ambrosia Wind Farm – located along CEL-East Stage 1
  • Grevillea Wind Farm – located along CEL-Moora
  • Wandoo Wind Farm – located along CEL-Moora

Together, these projects will make a significant contribution to the Western Australia’s clean energy transition, while creating jobs and supporting regional communities.
