The Australian Clean Energy Summit 2025

The Green Wind Renewables team attended the Australian Clean Energy Summit in Sydney on 29–30 July 2025, joining industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to discuss the future of Australia’s energy transition.

“There’s a real sense of momentum in the sector right now,” said CEO Daniel Thompson. “Policy certainty is giving developers and investors the confidence to plan and deliver with greater clarity. It feels like the sector has turned a corner, but there are some challenges that remain”

Key themes from the summit included the urgent need to accelerate transmission infrastructure and the growing importance of genuine engagement with communities and Traditional Owners.

“Transmission is one of the key enablers of the transition,” Thompson said. “As an industry, we’re ready to build – but we need the grid to keep up.”

On social licence, he noted: “Genuine engagement isn’t a box-ticking exercise – it’s foundational. The projects that succeed are the ones where people feel heard and respected from the start.”

The evolving nature of the grid was also in focus, with battery storage and data centres reshaping how we plan and operate energy systems.

The team returned from the summit energised by the insights and connections – and more determined than ever to deliver sustainable, community-backed projects that support Australia’s clean energy future.
